A woman was threatened before being knocked unconscious when a thug forced his way into her home and hit her in the face.

The assault happened at an address in Burbridge Road, Leavesden, just before 9.30pm on Saturday, July 10.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, heard a knock at the door and when she opened it, a man pushed his way into the property, Hertfordshire Constabulary said.

He verbally threatened the victim before hitting her in the face, causing her to fall unconscious.

She was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Officers investigating the attack have released an image of a man they would like to identify and speak to as part of their enquiries.

PC Nia Hadley, who is investigating, said: “This incident has left the victim understandably shaken, and we are doing all we can to support her at this time.

“We believe this to be a targeted incident and as part of our enquiries, we have released an image of a man we believe has information that could prove vital to our investigation.

“I know you cannot see his face clearly, however someone may recognise the distinctive logo on his hooded top and we owe it to the victim to explore every possible avenue in our investigation.

“If you know who the person is, or you have any further information you think could be useful to police, then please get in touch as soon as possible.”
