A NatWest branch is set to officially close after not operating for over a year.

The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the movement towards online banking following three national lockdowns and people generally attempting to limit personal contact.

As a result, many banking firms have made the decision to shut various branches within the local area and nationally.

Now NatWest has confirmed to clients that the branch at Watford Junction will permanently close on November 10 this year.

Since the coronavirus pandemic began, the branch has been closed, but the bank has now officially explained that it will not reopen.

The bank said: “The way people bank with us has changed dramatically in recent years, with an increased demand for mobile and online services as customers benefit from a faster and easier way to bank.

“Online banking has made it easier for many of our customers to manage their financial lives. We must therefore continually review our network and make sure we have branches in locations where customers use them the most.”

Anyone reliant on NatWest services should visit the branch at High Street, Watford.
