With vaccination uptakes are beginning to slow down in Watford, there are several more vaccination clinics available in the coming weeks to push for more jabs.

Although the link between Covid and hospitalisations and deaths has been "weakened", there continues to be a push for more vaccinations to ensure the safety of others and to lessen the likelihood of dangerous variants developing.

Since the beginning of July the vaccination uptake of first doses seem to have plateaued, while second doses continue to increase at a slower and steady rate.

To help protect local communities against Covid-19, more vaccination clinics will be available in the coming weeks for anyone over 18.

Anyone wishing to get a second dose must have received the first dose at least eight weeks ago, and residents do not need to be registered with a GP or have an NHS number.

No appointments are necessary in these clinics:

Asda, St Albans Road – Walk-ins every day from 8am to 7pm.

• Until Friday (July 30) - Offering Moderna 1st and 2nd dose (must be eight weeks plus from 1st dose)

• From Saturday (July 31) - Offering AstraZeneca 1st and 2nd dose (must be eight weeks plus from 1st dose)

Watford Town Hall

Photo ID and proof of age will need to be shown, but no appointment is necessary.

AstraZeneca is being offered to people aged 40 and over, while Pfizer is being offered to anyone over 18.
