A ‘religious festival’ in Sarratt attended by travellers has finished.
Travellers started to leave an organised event held on private land in Bucks Hill on Saturday, July 31.
They pitched up in the area Sunday, July 25, and were spotted by a member of the public who informed police.
The Observer understands the group, who had permission to be on the land, indicated to police they were there for a religious festival.
This is understood to be the Light and Life convention, a Pentecostal Gypsy-led festival.
Three Rivers Police warned people on Saturday that motorists may come across some traffic congestions as people left the event.
A Facebook post read: “We would like to make residents aware of some possible traffic congestion on Bucks Hill on the outskirts of Sarratt today (Saturday 31 July) as people leave an organised event which has been held on private land.
“Please review your travel plans and find an alternative route where possible.
“The local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be in the area to monitor the situation and would like to thank motorists for their patience.”
