A coffee house chain is being lined up to replace the former mini-Halfords store in Rickmansworth.
Plans to start converting the empty unit in the High Street into a Starbucks coffee shop have been submitted to Three Rivers District Council.
The Halfords store that had been in the unit closed around February last year and a sign saying the site was available was displayed.
The plans for a new Starbucks include installing signs of the brand's logo, putting in air conditioning units at the rear of the site and repainting the shopfront.
Drawings have been submitted to the council’s planning portal which show how the new signs could look on the store front.
According to a document, the proposed signs will be minimal in nature and of small size relative to the shop frontage.
"This is in keeping with the signage existing on other nearby shops and ensures that the effect of the signage is not to visually overwhelm the shopfront," it added.
There is currently no Starbucks in Rickmansworth, with the nearest ones being in Watford.
The plans have been submitted by Spruce Town Planning Ltd on behalf of Starbucks.
