Emergency services have rushed to Watford town centre this morning after a bus hit a cyclist.

The crash occurred around 7am, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue said.

The fire service tweeted this morning that fire crews were mobilised to a road traffic collision in Lower High Street.

“One female cyclist had collided with a bus,” it said.

“No persons trapped.”

The fire service added that one casualty has been left in the care of paramedics.

A picture shows police blocking the road as emergency services work at the scene.

Lower High Street is closed between the junctions of New Road and Watford Field Road.

Hertfordshire Constabulary and the East of England Ambulance service has been approached for more information.
