- Officers were called to Water Lane at around 6.20am (August 9) following reports of a collision.

- It was reported that a vehicle had hit some fencing and the road had been left blocked.

- Hertfordshire Highways confirmed this morning that Water Lane was closed to allow the vehicle to be recovered.

- The road was fully reopened by 8.45am, according to the the highways team.

- A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed the driver of vehicle that crashed was not at the scene when police arrived.
