Watford’s biggest ever pop-up vaccination clinic will return to Vicarage Road stadium this weekend.
Residents are being urged to take up the opportunity of a Covid jab at the home of Watford FC on Sunday, August 22.
It comes after nearly 2,000 people were vaccinated at a previous clinic in the stadium in June - an event dubbed by Watford Borough Council as "Super Sunday".
This clinic on August 22 is open to all over 18s, as well as 16 and 17-year-olds.
Around a quarter of Watford’s adult population remain unvaccinated, according to Public Health England data.
Anyone over the age of 16 who is yet to have a jab is eligible, along with residents who had a first dose of the Pfizer at least eight weeks ago.
Only the Pfizer vaccine will be available at the Vicarage Road clinic, which will run from 10am until 6pm.
Residents in Watford, as well as from neighbouring areas such as Bushey, Rickmansworth, Abbots Langley and more, can turn up without making an appointment but bookings can be made at www.watford.gov.uk/supersunday.
Dr Asif Faizy, board GP for Watford and Three Rivers and locality chairman said: "We saw the very best of Watford at the last clinic, with everyone in the community pulling together to help achieve so much and it was also really good to see so many people there from groups who have been under represented so far.
"Getting the vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones, so please come down to the stadium for your first dose or your top-up second dose of Pfizer."
Watford mayor Peter Taylor added: "We hope this event will be just as successful as our first Super Sunday Clinic back in June, especially with 16 and overs now eligible.
"The best thing that any of us can do to stop Covid spreading is to get both doses of the vaccine."
Entry to the stadium will be from outside The Hornets shop and down Occupation Road. Face coverings are mandatory inside.
Only disabled parking is available.
Vaccinations are also available elsewhere in Watford such as at the town hall or at Asda. For more details about where to get a vaccination visit covid.healthierfuture.org.uk
