Hi! I’m Tessie and this is my friend Ernie. We’re ex-racing greyhounds looking for a comfy couch since coming to the National Animal Welfare Trust three weeks ago.

I’m a sweet, sensitive four-year-old girl who loves being out-and-about and playing with my soft toys. The orange monkey in my kennel is my favourite. I love a good brush as well but sometimes think the brush is a toy.

And I’m Ernie, a lovely two-year-old boy. I like going on walks with my fellow greyhounds and my best friend here is Tessie.

I enjoy exploring things at my own pace, having a little run in the paddock chasing my squeaky toys and doing zoomies.

Watford Observer:

Tessie loves being out and about

Like Tessie, I can be nervous to meet new people to begin with but once I get to know you I’m very affectionate and enjoy a cuddle.

We’re both polite and walk nicely on the lead but still have a few things to learn. We get startled by loud traffic so ideally would live near a quiet road.

We’re wary of new things so need an owner who’s home most the day and will be patient while we learn the world isn’t such a scary place.

Watford Observer:

Ernie can also be nervous of meeting new people

We could live with adults or families with children aged 12 and over. And even another dog of a similar size if we get on well here at the NAWT, but not cats.

If you can give either of us a loving home, email reception@nawt.org.uk or call 0208 950 0177 (option 2) to arrange a visit.
