Police have confirmed one man was arrested in connection with an incident in Watford on Sunday afternoon - adding there is "no threat to the wider public".
Hertfordshire Constabulary said its presence in Queens Road was a "disturbance" that has been logged as a "domestic incident" between two people known to each other.
The residential street was cordoned off by officers for around five hours with forensics being called as well.
A spokesperson for the police has given very little detail about what happened.
They said: "Police were called shortly after 3pm on Sunday 29 August following a disturbance in Queens Road, Watford.
"Officers attended and a 33-year-old man was arrested. He remains in police custody at this time.
"The incident was isolated and involved a man and a woman who are known to each other."
One man was seen being taken on a stretcher into an ambulance at around 3.15pm. An eyewitness told the Observer they could see the man had "blood on his hands".
It's not been revealed how the man sustained his injuries. There have been no reports of any other injuries at this stage.
Throughout the rest of the afternoon and into the evening, police were seen carrying out enquiries in the street with police tape across Queens Road near the junction with Orphanage Road.
The police cordon was reportedly lifted at around 8.30pm.
Police initially posted on its social media channels: "We have closed Queens Road in #Watford while we deal with an incident. Please avoid the area at this time, 4pm Sunday 29 August. Thank you for your patience."
