A person has been rushed to hospital after a car caught fire when it hit the central reservation in a crash involving a lorry on the M1.
Emergency services were rushed to Junction 8 (Hemel Hempstead) of the motorway heading northbound following the crash around 8.40am on Thursday.
A lorry and a Volkswagen Polo were involved, Hertfordshire Constabulary said.
The force added that the Volkswagen caught fire.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue says the car crashed into the central reservation, which caused it to catch fire.

One person was taken to hospital with slight injuries.
The M1 northbound has been closed between junction 8 and junction 9 to allow emergency services access and for vehicle recovery.
Queues are tailing back towards the M25 Junction 21 exit slip roads for the M1 and queues on the M1 are heading back to Junction 6.
