A Watford charity has been working in partnership with other local groups to help with the Afghan new arrivals.

One Vision has joined Hertfordshire County Council, faith leaders and local charities, as well as 21 Co-op stores, to help with the Afghan new arrivals.

One Vision is a community project that provides practical support such as hot meals and food parcels or mental health signposting services to vulnerable individuals and families in Watford.

The charity is also providing the Afghans with spiritual and religious support through its numerous faith group networks, such as Korans, Bibles, prayer mats, and more.

One Vision founder and CEO Enoch Kanagaraj said: “Thank you to all those volunteers who have tirelessly helped out.

“We have a 40ft container placed in our One Vision hub to support this project and help the vulnerable arriving.

“We are overwhelmed with the generosity of the care and kindness shown by our community in such short notice and we are looking closely at creating a long term plan.”

The groups who have partnered together have organised a collection point which is located at One Vision, Penfold Park, WD25 OGB.

Other collection points can be found elsewhere in Watford, Leavesden, St Albans, Garston, Hemel Hempstead, North Wood, Chiswell and Croxley Green.
