Readers have hailed their favourite eateries as part of a campaign to get local hospitality back on its feet.

Over the past 18 months our hospitality industry has had a tough time battling lockdowns and restrictions.

Leading up to National Hospitality Day on 18 September, we are celebrating a range of businesses in the industry.

This week we honour our cafes, we asked our readers to name their favorite cafes and why. Here are some of the most popular: 

Bean Here located just off the Hunton Bridge roundabout, proved popular with our readers. Bean Here provides a great place to enjoy coffees, teas, freshly baked sourdough bread, cakes, pastries and paninis. Vanessa Kelly Gibbs said: “It has been fantastic all through lockdown, brownies to die for.” It is ranked 5 stars on TripAdvisor. 

Ocean Bells, a family run coffee shop in the High Street. It specialises in artisan coffee, tea and home-made cakes, with a wide range of vegan or meat options. The cafe was mentioned several times by readers, it is currently rated 4.5 of 5 on Tripadvisor and ranked as14th of 254 restaurants in Watford. 

Flourish Craft Bakery an artisan bakery in Garnett Close. It supplies wholesale breads and pastries to Michelin-starred restaurants, five-star hotels, authentic food markets, cafés and stores. Michael Sniedze-Hinde commented: “Hands down the best in the area. The food is delicious.” It has a rating of 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor. 

Café Bianco a cozy cafe in the High Street offers a range of toasted paninis, focaccia and bagels and a variety of sweet treats. Its available both UberEats and JustEat for delivery. The cafe has a TripAdvisor rating of 3.5 stars, a review added: “Lovely coffee and a super selection of cakes. It was our first time visit and the owners were very friendly. They even gave some cakes away for free.”
