The following announcements were carried in the Watford Observer last week:

FISHER William (Bill) – Passed away peacefully on Wednesday 25th August 2021, aged 92 years. A very much loved Husband to Dorothy (Dot) for 67 years. Will never be forgotten.

Jean Elizabeth Ruby Jenner – Jean Jenner, nee Roots passed away peacefully on 29th August 2021 aged 87 following a long illness. A very much loved Mum, Nanny, Great-Nanny, Auntie and Friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Now reunited with Don.

Frances O’Brien – Loving mother to Kevin, Nigel and Mark (deceased). Also grandmother and great grandmother. Died 24th August 2021. With fondest loving memories from all the family. Rest in peace.

LILY PUTTNAM – Lily passed away peacefully in Exeter on 12th August, aged 89. An Abbots Langley resident from 1958, where she was an active and loved member of the Methodist church, she later moved with her husband John to Devon in 1985. Widowed in 2013 she was loved by her nephew Tony, also her niece Carol and all who knew her.

Irene ‘Rene’ Elizabeth Weerdmeester-Ramsay, Wennie with a wubble-u – Passed away on Tuesday 31st August 2021, Aged 82 years. Mother, Sister, best friend to Mo, Teacher, colleague, a most fearsome foe. Wig maker extraordinaire, there was nothing she couldn’t so with hair,…or wire, or wool, or plastic for that matter. Down the stairs she came one day with a clatter, Battered and bruised she came back in a jiffy, with a vodka in one hand and the other a ciggie! She loved writing stories, anecdotes from her career, Her wicked sense of humour, bringing laughter and tears. Her garden was her sanctuary, where she toiled endlessly, That pesky creeping bindweed won’t get the better of me! Greatly missed by all who knew her. Gone but most certainly never forgotten.

WELLS Austin William – Passed away peacefully on Friday 20th August 2021, aged 85 years. He was much loved and will be sadly missed by his Sons Stephen and Gary and his Daughters Julie and Pat and all of his family and friends. Reunited with his beloved Wife Barbara.

Joanna (Jo) Witney – Jo Witney, a creative and generous person, a much loved Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Formerly living in Watford, died in Harrogate on 29th August 2021.
