Most Prime Ministers try to have a cabinet which is a team of all the talents. Boris Johnson prefers a cabinet that has no talent and that causes problems - as witnessed by the sacking of former Education Secretary Gavin Williamson and the demotion of Dominic Raab.

Their replacements continue to be mediocre at best. What a way to run the country.

Residents have been hit hard and left worse off by Boris Johnson’s shambolic decision-making, which saw him break his 2019 election promises by raising tax and cutting pensions.

He personally guaranteed no tax increases, said he had a plan to fund social care and the Tories vowed to keep the ‘triple lock’ on pensions to ensure the maximum increase each year.

Both manifesto commitments were ditched this month when he hiked up National Insurance by over 10 per cent for workers and broke his word to Britain’s pensioners too.

The NI increase hits the lowest paid the hardest and means that a retired millionaire doesn’t pay an extra penny to help fund social care, but low-paid families will end up forking-out an extra £1,000 or more.

It’s clear that Boris Johnson had no plans to tackle the social care crisis as he claimed, and people will still have to sell their homes to fund care. He hasn’t fixed it at all, it’s a right dog’s breakfast.

Pensioners have been denied the rise in the state pension they were promised as the Government has refused to keep its word and increase it in line with wages this year.

The Conservatives have also scrapped the £20 per week uplift to Universal Credit, which has helped many working families.

Unfortunately people who believed Boris Johnson and the Conservatives’ promises have been well and truly had.
