A permanent post office will be reopening in a new location in the Meriden following the redevelopment of the area.

The site in the Gossamers closed in May due to the redevelopment and a temporary post office has been running in the car park of Meriden Community Centre.

But this service is due to close on Thursday, November 18 at 5.30pm, with the new permanent post office ready to open the following day at 10am.

It will be located in Unit 7, York Way, Watford, WD25 9EA.

The new branch will be approximately 130 metres away from the previous branch.

There will be three Post Office counters - two full screen counters will be open Monday to Friday: 9am – 5.30pm; Saturday: 9am – 2pm.

There will also be a low-screened counter alongside the retail counter of the convenience store that will be open Monday to Saturday: 8am - 8pm; Sunday: 9am – 6pm.

This will offer 81 hours of Post Office services a week, including evenings and weekend opening, making it convenient for customers to visit.

Graham Simmons, Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring a full-time, permanent Post Office to the Meriden area of Watford, as we know how important Post Office services are to a community.”

Feedback on access into and inside the premises is also being welcomed.

Feedback on the move can be submitted online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 016033 until November 12.

Submissions can also be made via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
