Traffic is now clearing after a broken down HGV caused long delays around Bushey Arches.
Eastbury Road had been shut on Wednesday afternoon as the vehicle was recovered, which caused heavy congestion in the area.
There had been very heavy traffic all the way along Lower High Street towards Bushey Arches as well as Pinner Road.
There were also long queues along Waterfields Way heading towards Lower High Street.
But Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed that the HGV has been recovered and that Eastbury Road has reopened.
Traffic is returning to normal as a result, with queues clearing in surrounding roads.
There had been reports that bricks had fallen, but police said the driver stopped after three of the HGV's tyres had punctured.
The force said it recieved no reports of bricks falling.
