Veterans, young people and the public turned out in their hundreds to pay their respects on Remembrance Sunday in Watford.
A series of ceremonies took place across Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere today to pay respect for the fallen soldiers who lost their lives in conflicts.
The day of remembrance this year was extra special after Covid restrictions last year meant that traditional services were altered and disrupted.
Outside Watford Town Hall at 3pm, a large service took place with many notable figures in attendance including Watford Mayor Peter Taylor, MP Dean Russell and Watford legend Luther Blissett.
The service also saw many veterans and young people.
Dozens of wreaths were laid by members of the armed forces and notable figures and attendees took part in a two-minute silence to show their respects.
Watford Council said: “Thank you to everyone who attended the Remembrance Sunday service at the Town Hall Peace Memorial, and remembered those who have given their lives for us in conflict. Watford Will Remember - Lest We Forget.”
Various other services took place in the local area including Oxhey Village Green, St Matthew’s Church, All Saints Church and more.
