A ‘Give a Gift’ campaign has launched at Atria Watford, encouraging people to donate gifts to children in need.

In partnership with Heart Radio, Atria Watford will be supporting two local charities for this campaign: Watford Homestart, who provide a family support service, and Watford Mencap, who care for people with learning disabilities.

To donate to the chosen charities, visitors are encouraged to drop off an un-wrapped gift at the gifting box just outside Goldsmiths by December 2.

The shopping centre says that sensory toys and arts and crafts items are particularly in need this year.

For those unable to shop for a gift and who would rather donate cash, customers can visit a giving tree located on the lower mall outside M&S and Next, to send donations.

Vicki Costello, centre director at Atria Watford, said: “Supporting local charities has and always will be important to us here at Atria Watford.

“Being able to support not one, but two, in the run up to Christmas gives the centre team and our generous customers the opportunity to put smiles on faces throughout the festive season.

“Thank you to those who kindly drop off a gift, or utilise our cash donation service.”

During the Christmas period, shoppers will also be able to make use of various activities coming to the shopping centre in the coming weeks.

From December 2 until December 31, the free pop-up roller skating rink will return to the upper mall in the unit next to Tailor & Co/ WH Smiths.

The roller disco is open from 11am-6pm Mondays to Saturday, and 11am-5pm on Sundays, with all slots available for one hour.
