One person was taken to hospital following a crash on a residential street.

The emergency services were called to Villiers Road in Oxhey at around 11.20am today (December 2).

Police say a BMW and a Hyundai were involved and the ambulance service and an Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended along with a rapid response vehicle.

The helicopter landed on nearby parkland but it has been confirmed a person was taken to Watford General Hospital by road rather than air. It is unknown how serious their condition is.

Hertfordshire Constabulary says Villiers Road was left blocked by the vehicles involved, with both cars requiring recovery.

The road was cleared by 1pm, police added.
