Update: Police have identified the person pictured in the CCTV images that were initially posted
Police investigating an assault inside the Atria Watford shopping centre have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.
A 16-year-old boy suffered cuts on his body after he was injured on an escalator by the Next clothing store at around 1pm on Friday January 14.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says the teenager was chased before falling down the escalator.
Initially, police believed he had been pushed down but further enquiries have established that he may have fallen instead.
As part of their enquiries into the injuries suffered, officers have released images of a person they believe can help with their enquiries.
PC Jessica Tanseli, who is investigating, said: "The victim was left with multiple cuts on various parts of his body and we are doing everything we can to investigate.
"We believe the man pictured was in the area around the time of the incident and he could have vital information that will assist our enquiries.
"If you recognise him, or have information yourself, please get in touch by calling 101 quoting crime reference 41/3666/22."
Information can also be reported online at herts.police.uk/report or anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org.
