Police are trying to find a person who may have witnessed a man and woman being attacked in Watford.

The incident occurred in Rosslyn Road around 2pm on Sunday,  January 30.

Hertfordshire Constabulary received a report that a man and a woman were physically assaulted by two males.

Police want to speak to a man who they think may have “vital” information about what happened.

The force says he was seen on Rosslyn Road at approximately 2pm, before walking along Bentine Lane, next to the Gade car park, and into the town centre, before stopping outside Paddy Power at around 2.05pm.

Investigator Kirsty Treanor, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “I understand that incidents of this nature are likely to cause concern among the community, however, we believe that those involved are known to each other and that this was not a random attack.

“Our enquiries have identified a potential witness and we’re really keen to speak with them, as they may be able to assist with our investigation.

“The witness is described as a white male, aged mid 20s to mid 30s, with short dark brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, grey trousers, black Adidas trainers with a white sole and was smoking a vape.

“If this is you, or you think you might know them, then please do get in touch. We’d also like to hear from anyone else who may have information about the assault.”
