An eagle-eyed resident has been praised after police found a stolen motorbike just half-an-hour after it was nicked in Bushey.
Officers were tipped off that it was being taken by two thieves in Aspen Place at around 11.23pm on Wednesday, February 16.
A dog unit and police helicopter were deployed and located the bike in King George Recreation Ground’s car park before returning it to the owner.
The thieves – described as wearing black clothing and helmets – were not found.
PC Brad Glover, from the Operation Scorpion team, praised the proactive resident for reporting what they believed was a crime taking place.
“It meant that we were able to quickly attend and locate the stolen motorbike,” he added.
“The motorbike had been left secured, however the offenders were still able to take it using an angle grinder to saw through a lock.”
Anyone with information has been urged to contact police online or via 101 quoting reference 41/13210/22.
