“Incredibly sentimental” jewellery worth £8,000 has been stolen during a burglary at a luxury estate in Bushey.

A residential property was raided in Royal Connaught Drive, which runs alongside Royal Connaught Park, some time between January 4 and January 29.

Thieves stole a ruby and diamond pendant, a platinum diamond engagement ring, a 14-carat gold teardrop pendant and hooped black diamond earrings.

PC Kim Aylward said: “Not only are the stolen items of high monetary value, they are also of incredibly high sentimental value to the victim.

“We are releasing pictures of some of the distinctive items in the hopes that someone may recognise them – perhaps you have seen them listed online, or been offered them for sale?”

Royal Connaught Park, which since 2009 is being redeveloped into luxury residences, was formerly The United States International University (Europe).

It was originally built in 1900 for the Royal Masonic School for Boys.
