Temporary traffic lights are causing delays for motorists travelling in and out of Watford.

Three-way lights have been introduced in Hempstead Road at its junction with Courtlands Drive.

The lights, which appeared this morning (March 7), caused lengthy delays in both directions during rush hour and continues to cause problems.

Hertfordshire Highways tweeted shortly before 9am that it was causing delays of around 17 minutes.

According to traffic data management website One Network, mobile telecommunication company T-Mobile UK Ltd is responsible for the work being carried out at the junction.

The company has been granted a permit of until Friday March 11 by Hertfordshire County Council.

Nearby Langleybury Lane, off the A41 in Hunton Bridge, also remains closed because of work being carried out by Cadent Gas.

This closure, which is forcing more traffic down the A41 towards Hempstead Road, is due to be lifted by March 11, according to One Network.
