A 90-year-old Watford fitness fanatic is urging women to prioritise staying active to honour International Women’s Day.

Pamela Brett, known to those at Prince Michael of Kent Court care home as Pam, cycles daily in the gym and said “staying active has been important to me at every stage of my life”.

She often gets residents and staff to join in and never misses one of the home’s weekly exercise sessions.

Tracy Lydon, one of the home’s coordinators, said: “Pam is a fantastic character. She brings a real spark to our home.

“Her motivation, spirit and drive are a real inspiration to women and girls everywhere to keep active.”

Pam added: “When I cycle I often play a YouTube video, which takes me along scenic views of the Cotswolds.

“It really helps with motivation.”

And the secret to long life?
