Two people have been arrested after police responded to reports of an armed robbery last night.
Armed officers and a police helicopter were called to the Meriden estate in Watford just before 11pm (March 8).
Police say a restaurant in York Way was targeted - reports on Facebook say it was the Chiqizza takeaway and that a knife was used.
Following the incident, armed police were seen searching the estate as the helicopter hovered overhead.
Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed that two men aged 19 and 23 have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Police were called at just before 11pm yesterday (Tuesday 8 March) to reports of an armed robbery at a restaurant on York Way, Watford.
"Officers, including the armed response unit and police helicopter, attended and searched the area.
"A knife was recovered and two men were arrested on suspicion of robbery. They remain in police custody at this time."
