A skilled 12-year-old table tennis player will represent Hertfordshire in the national finals.

Aradhana Saravanan, who attends Rickmansworth School, will compete against some of the best young players in the country at the 47th Butterfly School Individual Table Tennis Champions National Finals on April 2 at Wolverhampton.

Miss Saravanan was just seven when she started playing the sport and has been training weekly ever since.

In the last year she has developed a wide range of strokes and upped her game to compete against the nation’s best.

More than 350 players from 50 counties will gather for the finals,one of the UK's biggest table tennis competitions.

Several stars, including Rio Olympians Liam Pitchford, Paul Drinkall and Sam Walker and Commonwealth Games medallists Tin Tin Ho and Maria Tsaptsinos, competed at this event during their school years.
