Railway passengers are warned of upcoming disruptions while major engineering work and rail upgrades take place on the West Coast main line.

While over a month away, Network Rail has alerted commuters that there will be some upgrades taking place affecting people in Watford during the Easter weekend and later over the early May Bank Holiday weekend.

Anyone planning to travel during the time should be aware that journeys may take longer, trains could be busier and they may need to use rail replacement buses.

This includes work between April 15 and April 18, as track and signal upgrades take place between London Euston and Milton Keynes.

During the early May bank holiday weekend, the track and railway drainage between London Euston and Watford and renewing electrical switches and crossings at Watford Junction.

Work during the bank holiday weekend involving the reconstruction of a bridge at Euston / Camden, which could also contribute to possible disruptions.
