Motorists in Bushey and Rickmansworth are among those who may face disruption due to planned temporary road closures for roadworks.

A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer also details proposals to shut roads in Croxley Green and Kings Langley while works are carried out.

All temporary closure orders are valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at the times shown on signs at or near the relevant locations.

The council intends to make an order to close B462 Aldenham Road, Bushey, from its junction with Little Bushey Lane south-westwards for a distance of 40m, and B462 Hartspring Lane from its junction with Bushey Mill Lane north-eastwards for a distance of 40m.

This order is due to come into force on April 7 and is needed for traffic signal refurbishment works.

Before then, an order is set to take effect on April 4 for tree works that will temporarily shut Elstree Road, Bushey Heath, from its junction with Nimmo Drive south-westwards to its junction with A411 High Road, a distance of 442m.

An order is due to take effect on April 4 that will prohibit vehicles from using these lengths of road:

  • Copthorne Road, Croxley Green, from its junction with Park Road northwards to its junction with Scots Mill Lane, a distance of 43m.
  • Nightingale Road, Rickmansworth, from its junction with Townsfield north-eastwards to its junction with Thrush Green, a distance of 106m.

Norfolk Road, Rickmansworth, is set to be closed from its junction with Church Street north-eastwards for a distance of 10m for utility works.

This order, if made, will come into force on April 5.

Separately on April 5, another order is set to take effect that will close the following lengths of road in Rickmansworth, also for utility works:

  • Parsonage Road from its junction with A412 Rectory Road south-westwards and south-eastwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of 160m.
  • Rectory Lane from the western boundary of No. 154 north-eastwards to its junction with Parsonage Road, a distance of 20m.

LED light conversion works are set to shut Railway Terrace, Kings Langley, from its junction with Hyde Lane south-westwards for a distance of 49m.

This order is due to come into force on April 4.
