A Watford man is set to go on trial after being charged with historical sex offences involving a six-year-old girl.

Patrick Fitzsimons, of Prestwick Road, is accused of indecently assaulting a child in the 1980s on four occasions, as well as inciting her to commit an act of “gross indecency”.

The 63-year-old also allegedly indecently assaulted a teenage girl in the early 1990s.

Fitzsimons pleaded not guilty to all charges at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 11.

He was granted unconditional bail and the case was sent for trial at St Albans Crown Court on April 11.
