Watford Borough Council is to buy four new electric vehicles which will be used to help clean up the town.
The new additions include three new electric cage tippers and one new electric sweeper which the council says will improve air quality, reduce noise pollution and reduce carbon emissions.
Switching to these new cage tippers will, over the five-year vehicle lifespan, save £19,000 in fuel with the vehicles set to arrive this year.
Darren Harding, senior contract manager at Veolia, said: "We are thrilled to be launching this suite of new electric vehicles which will help our dedicated streets and parks teams to carry out their work efficiently and sustainably.
"We are proud to support our partner Watford Borough Council on its journey to net zero."
