A new headmaster has been announced at a preparatory school in Bushey.

The Aldenham Foundation says current deputy head Andy Kaye will become the new head at St Hilda's from September.

Mr Kaye joined the school, which teaches girls aged four to eleven, in 2016, having joined from a primary school where he was also deputy head teacher.

Commenting on the role he will take up later this year, Mr Kaye said: "I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed as the new Head of St Hilda’s. It is a wonderful school with such a warm and welcoming ethos.

"When you set foot in the building, it is clear to see the happiness and pride the girls have in both their school and their learning.

"I am very much looking forward to continuing to work with colleagues, parents and the girls in supporting them to achieve their true potential, both inside and outside of the classroom."

Outgoing headmaster and chief executive of the foundation, James Fowler, said: "I am absolutely delighted that Andy Kaye has been appointed as the new Head of St Hilda’s School. He is so familiar to everyone in the school community as a popular and successful deputy head and has all the capabilities to lead the school in succession to head mistress Sarah-Jane Styles.

"I know that he will also be a very key member of the foundation leadership group and work well with the governors, all of whom are committed to seeing St Hilda’s flourish under his leadership."
