Just one place scored badly after a food hygiene inspection over the past month.

The Watford Observer has been logging inspections on a monthly basis so that readers can stay up-to-date with which spots have been up to code.

Five is top of the scale, meaning the hygiene standards are very good and fully comply with the law and zero is at the bottom of the scale, meaning urgent improvement is necessary.

The Watford Ex Service and Social Club, located at St Albans Road, was the only place told that major improvement was required after a visit on February 14.

Both the hygienic food handling and cleanliness of facilities were considered ‘very good’ but it was the management of food safety that was of concern as ‘major improvement’ was necessary.
