Hello, I’m Ralph, a bright, energetic Lakeland Terrier. I’m two-years-old and came to the National Animal Welfare Trust from the pound a month ago.

I’m an affectionate chap looking for an active home with someone experienced in reward-based training. I’ve been told I have tons of potential and would excel with someone who has the time, dedication and ability to focus on my training and teach me to channel my mental and physical energy into activities such as scent-work, agility, hoopers or trick training.

I can be reactive around other dogs so need to wear a muzzle and be on a lead in public. Also, I’m not used to being left alone and may become stressed. My new human will need to understand that it may take many months to build up the time I can be left for two hours.

I’m looking for a home and garden with adults or a family with older children where I’d be the only pet. I can jump very high – up to 6ft! – so need a garden with a secure fence.

Watford Observer:

I’d be a fabulous companion for someone looking for a loving whirlwind to train properly. I’ll repay these efforts many times over in love, enthusiasm and friendship.

Coming from the NAWT, I’ve been medically checked by a vet; vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and neutered; given an individual training plan and four free weeks of Petplan insurance.
