Watford Borough Council will be handing out free compost to residents next week.
Up to two bags can be collected at Woodside Playing Fields on Saturday, May 14, from 10am to 1pm or until the compost runs out.
It has been made from garden waste collected from local homes.

Residents are asked to bring proof of Watford residency such as a utility bill, their own shovel and bags to carry the compost away in.
The initiative is being carried out with environmental company Veolia and 10 tonnes will be available on the day.
Darren Harding, senior contracts manager for Veolia in Watford, said: “Big thank you to everyone who recycles their green waste and to Severn Trent Green Power for donating the compost to our residents.
“It is amazing to witness first-hand the extraordinary recycling loop of garden waste being collected by our crews and turned into nutrient compost to grow new plants and vegetables.”
