2022 is the year that The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after an incredible 70 years of service, having acceded to the throne on February 6, 1952 at just 25 years old.

This remarkable lady has dedicated her life to public service and continues to carry out official duties despite being 96 years of age. She has visited over 110 countries across six continents, acts as a patron to more than 600 charities, has had 14 Prime Ministers serve her, and has overseen huge social, economic and political change, including the end of the British Empire, and serving her country during World War II.

Following the success of the first Big Jubilee Lunch in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, The Big Lunch will bring the celebrations into the heart of every community again in 2022.

Hertfordshire County Council confirmed they have received more than 500 street party applications. You can find out what is happening where you live on this link, or if you have organised a street party yourself, you can upload the details here for other local residents to view: https://platinumjubilee.gov.uk/get-involved-with-the-platinum-jubilee/
