A road was shut after a person was seen climbing up a crane.

Police were called to Vicarage Road in Watford after a concern for welfare incident on Monday, May 30, at around 7.30pm.

Footage from onlookers showed that the individual neared the top of the crane that was close to Watford General Hospital.

The road was shut off by 8pm as police, fire and ambulance units attended to help the climber.

They were detained at around 9pm and the road reopened by 11pm.

It comes after another concern for welfare incident in Watford yesterday, as at least seven police cars were spotted near the Shepherds Road entrance for Cassiobury Park.

Police attended at around 1.29pm and stayed at the scene to help a man.
