Part of a busy road in Watford is among the streets in the area set to be temporarily closed for roadworks.

A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer details its intention to shut roads in Watford, Kings Langley and Chorleywood for works.

All temporary closure notices are valid for up to 18 months and work will only be carried out on times specified at or near the relevant locations.

Radlett Road is planned to be closed from its junction with Queens Road north-eastwards, south-eastwards and north-eastwards for a distance of 138m for bridge inspection works.

The order, if made, will take effect on June 21 and the diversion will be via Queens Road, Orphanage Road and Radlett Road.

An order is due to take effect on June 20 for the closure of these stretches of road in Kings Langley for utility works:

Lower Road from its junction with Hyde Lane north-westwards for a distance of 40m. The alternative route will be via Railway Terrace, Primrose Hill, Water Lane, Church Lane, A4251 (High Street/Hempstead Road), Nash Mills Lane, Red Lion Lane and Lower Road.

Railway Terrace from its junction with Hyde Lane southwards for a distance of 40m. The diversion will be via Lower Road, Red Lion Lane, Nash Mills Lane, A4251 (Hempstead Road/High Street), Church Lane, Water Lane, Primrose Hill and Railway Terrace.

Footway reconstruction works are set to temporarily close Solesbridge Close, Chorleywood, from its junction with Solesbridge Lane north-westwards and south-westwards for a distance of 74m.

This order is due to take effect from June 27.
