Some homes were left without power for nearly 13 hours.

The UK Power Network said that engineers were onsite following the sudden outage reported in several homes at around 11.17pm yesterday (June 11).

This story has now been updated, after an alert at 12.29pm confirmed that all power in the area should be back on.

Engineers turned off the power to safely repair an underground network fault in the St Albans Road area.

According to the energy company, the following postcodes were affected: WD17 1, WD17 4, WD2 4, WD24 4, WD24 5.
