Hi, I’m Checkers and this is my friend Chilli. We’re a lovely, mixed pair of five-year-olds looking for a quiet, peaceful home.

We came to the National Animal Welfare Trust as strays so very little is known about our backgrounds. It’s taken us a while to feel comfortable in the company of the staff here, but we’d do even better in a calm home of our own being looked after by someone with experience of nervous cats.

We don’t like formal handling and, like most cats, prefer to keep our four paws on the floor! But we do like human company and once we get to know you, would enjoy some fuss in the form of head strokes and chin scratches.

We could live with adults or in a family with school-age children as long as they give us space and are calm around us so we learn that they aren’t that scary. Ideally, our new home would be in a quiet area, away from any busy or main roads and have access to a garden when we’re ready. We’d like to be the only pets in the home as we’re a bit frightened of dogs.

We’ve been medically checked by a vet and vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and neutered. Each of us comes with four free weeks of Petplan insurance.

If you could give us a loving home together, email reception@nawt.org.uk or call 020 8950 0177 (option 2) to meet us.
