More than 10,000 eligible households in Watford have not yet applied or are waiting to receive the Government’s council tax energy rebate.
The Government announced the £150 rebate on February 3 as part of its response to rising energy bills.
Local authorities, like Watford Borough Council, are responsible for administering the payment.
The council said it identified around 32,000 households across the borough (in tax bands A-D) who would be eligible for the payment.
All of its residents who pay their tax via direct debit received their £150 by May 23, the council said.
However, there are around 12,000 households in Watford who do not have a direct debit set up with the council.

With around 21,500 payments made so far by the council to direct and non-direct debit payers, this means there are just over 10,000 households still eligible - around a third of the eligible household population.
The council says process of making £150 payments to non direct-debit payers who have applied in in Watford is ongoing.
