Children who rely on free school meals will still be able to eat over the summer holidays at no extra cost.

The free meals are on offer as part of Hertfordshire’s Holiday Activities Programme that also includes sports and craft activities.

To be eligible, a child must be in receipt of benefit related free school meals.

The programme, being funded by Hertfordshire County Council, runs from July 25 to August 31, with sessions lasting four or seven hours.

More than 9,000 places are available for children who are in reception up to year 11.

Eligible children should have already received the booking code from their school.

Parents who have not received the code should contact their school office or email haf@herts.ac.uk.
