Households in Watford that are struggling with the cost of living crisis are being offered an online hub to find support with food, poverty and other issues.

Watford Borough Council has declared a “cost of living emergency” and hopes that the digital platform can help people with financial issues as well as their health and wellbeing.

The hub is a portal to provide advice and redirect anyone struggling to the local organisations that have seen an uptick in demand and who can offer help.

Such groups have also seen early signs of a challenging winter ahead for some people in Watford.

Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “We are working hard with our partners to provide support to help minimise the impact of the cost of living emergency.

“It’s important that residents and businesses understand that no matter how difficult their situation is, support is available via the council’s services and from our fantastic network of community groups”.
