A road is set to be closed for the next two weekends because of construction work on one of Watford's tallest towers.

Clarendon Road will be shut this weekend as well as the following weekend near the junction with Watford ring road at Beechen Grove.

It is due to an operation to move a crane onto the site where a 25-storey tower is being built.

The plans by developer Regal London are for 168 flats and office space that is due to be ready to move into in 2024.

The building, known as The Clarendon, will become one of the tallest in Watford.

Construction began earlier this year following the demolition of Hannay House, which bordered both Clarendon Road and Beechen Grove.

As work progresses, another crane needs to be installed on the site to allow building work to ramp up.
