A crash and flash flooding is causing long delays on the A41 this afternoon as bad weather pummels  the area.

The collision on the A41 northbound by Kings Langley, just off the M25 junction, is causing delays on the stretch and along the motorway.

In a separate incident in Watford by The Dome roundabout a lane has been closed due to flooding where the A405 meets the A41.

Herts Police warned it has received several reports of flooding across the county - particularly in east Herts - and urged people to plan ahead before travelling.

Other flash flood delays include those by the A414 near Hertford and the A1(M) in Welwyn.

A yellow weather warning is in place for Watford for the rest of the day with the Met Office saying heavy thunderstorms are expected.
