Trains were cancelled and told not stop at Watford Junction after a fire alarm went off this morning.
Firefighters were called to the station at 8.08am today (August 25) after a small fire broke out.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service says that smoke was issuing from an electrical installation on a train platform, caused by a small fire located in a light fitting.
The station was shut, affecting trains on the London Northwestern Railway, Avanti West Coast and London Overground.

Two crews from Watford attended and it was extinguished by 9.40am.

The station was still shut for much of the morning as investigations took place to determine the safety of passengers after the electrical fault.
Services were running back to normal by 12pm.
