Commuters in Watford called for changes to the benefit system and said the Conservatives must gain the public’s trust after the new Prime Minister was announced.

Liz Truss was today named as the UK’s next Prime Minister. She will take over from Boris Johnson, who announced his resignation on July 7 after a series of ministers resigned over his handling of the Chris Pincher scandal.

The former Foreign Secretary won the Conservative Party leadership contest against former Chancellor Rishi Sunak after weeks of campaigning for the top spot.
