Meanwhile, roadworks on the A404 Rickmansworth Road in Chorleywood are continuing to cause “severe” delays.

Temporary traffic lights are in operation because of emergency repairs being carried out by Cadent Gas near Chorleywood Cricket Club.

According to Hertfordshire Highways at around 4.30pm, travel time was around an hour westbound, which affects drivers coming from Rickmansworth.

The roadworks are not due to be completed until September 13.
