A man was stabbed during a large fight at a popular music festival in Hertfordshire.

It’s estimated that 4,000 people attended the festival at Herts Showground in St Albans on August 14, where the stabbing occurred.

The Pioneer Plays Festival was taking place at time time and would have likely attracted people from Watford and across Hertfordshire.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said it received reports of a "large altercation", following which a man in his 30s was taken to hospital with a stab wound.

He has since been discharged.

Detective Constable Adam Haines said: “Though the injury was serious and left the victim requiring hospital treatment, thankfully it was not considered life-changing or life-threatening.

“Our investigation has been progressing, but we still believe there are other people we have not spoken to, who may have information that can help us further.”
